Richard Wollaston recently handed over a cheque for £30,000 to Farleigh Hospice. All the money was raised by the runners and businesses that supported the 2009 Wollastons Race for Business.
"Last year's Race for Business was another great success" said Richard Wollaston. "Over 1,800 runners took part from more than 187 businesses and once again an outstanding amount of money was raised for charity. We would like to thank all the runners and businesses who supported the event and contributed towards this fantastic total raised."
Gary Hawkes, Head of Fundraising & PR, and Debbie de Boltz, Corporate and Events Manager, accepted the cheque on behalf of Farleigh Hospice. Gary said "Wollastons' support helps us to continue caring for members of the mid-Essex community who are affected by life limiting illnesses and makes a real difference to them at their time of greatest need. Without this help and generosity our team of doctors, community nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, chaplains and volunteers would not be able to deliver such a high level of dignity and comfort to our patients and their families, adding life to days, even when days can't be added to life".
The Race for Business is organised each year by Wollastons. It starts in Chelmsford town centre and takes runners through West Park and Admirals Park, finishing at Wollastons offices in Brierly Place, New London Road.
